Talk about bad coding :-) !

As you can see the game will have 4 hidden characters to fight against, and 2 hidden playable characters: Quan-Chi and Cyber sub-ser (who is new to the series and seems to be a cyborg version of sub-zero)

as you can see, this also confirms more that types of -ality as well as hidden fatalities (according to the australian report each character can have up to 5 fatalities).

I am quite intrigued about the cyber sub-zero character and his story inplication. In the original MK story there were two sub-zero’s. The older brother (named recently Bi-Han) was killed at the end of the first game and was later reborn ass noob saibot, a dark wraith from the forsaken netherrealm. The younger brother (quai liang) learns of his clan’s plans of automating their ninjas so he escapes, while his best friend smoke becomes a robot. The younger sub-zero is the one who gets unmasked in the 3rd game and is the same character playable in the upcoming game.

My question is, is cyber-subzero a “what if” character? will he be part of the story? is he a third character by himself, or is the future of the current sub-zero will see him as a cyborg (oh God plz no).

What do you guys think of all this?

  1. Wow…Cyber Sub-Zero…this game is gonna b hell….in a good way…lol. I’ve already pre-ordered my copy of the game, so I can’t wait 4 it 2 come out.

  2. @niko

You mean, “Kome out” right?, lol.

  3. 5ive fatalities per character. Wow hidden stuff……and a huge surprise for completion of level 300. Man this is going to be a huge game. I wonder if Capcom is going to try and cross counter this game with DLC around the same time of the games release? April is going to be a fools month for sure. Fighting games are starting to make a comeback.

  4. Wow! A cyber version of Sub-Zero… Looks like MK brought back the BRILLIANT character designers of the original trilogy.

Seriously, it’s 3D now… Cyber versions and palette-swaps are not super cool anymore, Ed Boon. (They never were.)

I am loving the amount of Fatalities, though… And they best have brought back some kind of ‘Friendship’-fatality. – Those were always the best to pull out in the arcade.

    ….

Also, I don’t know why people like hidden characters and modes in a fighting game… Hidden characters in a fighting game sucks… Especially if you ever want to take your copy of MK to your friends and don’t want to take your whole GD PS3/360 with you. – Don’t developers realize this? (okay, it’s less bad if the characters can be unlocked via an input-code without completely ruining Save Files).

  5. And I’m sorry… Most of the 300-level tower stuff that I’ve seen seems completely pointless. Sure, I’m down with a bunch of extra stuff to do – But it just gives me the initial impression that Boon and the MK team are going for quantity over quality… A practice they’ve been doing for the past 2 decades. Makes me weary, is all I’m saying…

    ,,,

Here’s to hoping for the best. Come on, Boon! Don’t f*** it up!

  6. @Joppula, yeah that’s what I meant…LOL.

  7. Aaron the demo for psn is out tomorrow so we can all see what’s up very soon, big daddy.

  8. I know, Greedy! I’m stoked! And despite my obvious reservations, I am actively excited for the game.

A pre-release demo also negates some of my wariness. I don’t think Boon would do such a thing if he didn’t legitimately believe it would help sales and assure those that are wary, like myself. :)

Any word on a 360 demo? Largely asking for my brother’s sake…

about the 360 version. Who knows maybe they have something exclusive going on with Sony right now.
